Member Representing the good people of Burutu federal constituency RT. HON JULIUS G PONDI, Thank the good people of Burutu federal constituency for returning him back to the house of representatives for the second term.

In a statement sent to creek news, and published on social media platforms.

"THANK YOU, MY DEAR CONSTITUENTS

Let me start by returning all the glory to the Almighty God who in His infinite mercy favoured  me to be chosen by all of you to return to the Green Chamber to continue to drive the interest of  Burutu people in the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am indeed humbled by your benevolence.

Please, grant me the indulgence to wholeheartedly thank the thousands of Burutu Federal Constituents who turned out to vote and  re-elect me and all other candidates of our party, the People’s Democratic Party. We appreciate you all, and we shall always do.

My sincere gratitude also goes to the collective leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in Burutu Federal Constituency, who dedicated their time and resources in ensuring that they won their various wards for our dear party, the People’s Democratic Party.

In particular, I would like to thank the  Burutu Local Government Campaign Council, ably led by Wing Commander P. Y Biakpara (rtd), co-ordinated by Chief Julius Takeme, fantastically  scribed by Hon. Godknows Angele, alongside Mr. Ebike Oromoni and all ward chairmen and ward campaign council Co-ordinators for their very commendable  efforts towards ensuring that I remain the only preferred choice of the people of Burutu Federal Constituency.

My deep thanks also go to members of the Julius Pondi Media team, members of the Pondified Ambassadors, the Unstoppable Force, Delta Ijaw Youths Movement, volunteers and other support groups that stood by me throughout the campaigns and subsequently, the elections.

Let me thank members of the Julius Pondi Campaign Organization ably led by Hon. Togoland Oruebi, and members of the Advisory/Elders council under the leadership of Elder Victor Awisi for their unwavering believe in my abilities. They stood  by me through thick and thin to ensure that we achieved our collective goal of returning me to the National Assembly. Clearly, I can not thank you enough.
That I have been returned to represent the good people of Burutu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly with a clear difference in the polls, to me, is an assurance that my efforts are acknowledged and appreciated by my constituents. Therefore, by your fresh endorsement and mandate, you have asked me to go and work more to lift Burutu to greater heights at the National level. The responsibility thrust on me is enormous and I want to assure everyone that I shall continue to concentrate my efforts on ways and means on improving on the delivery of more dividends of democracy  to our constituency.

Let me assure you, my dear constituents that I shall not relent in my passion to continuously serve and protect the best interest of our people in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly for the next four years.

In conclusion, I am graciously indebted to my adorable wife, and my children for their understanding and support. My uncle and brothers for their immeasurable assistance. They provided me  their moral and other required resources including valuable time in achieving this new mandate of our beloved people.

Thank you all, and may God bless Burutu Federal Constituency.

Singed:

NIGERIANS TO KNOW THEIR PRESIDENT LATEST WEDNESDAY -INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has said the conclusion of declaration of the 2019 Presidential Election results would not take longer than the 2015 elections in spite of the sheer number of presidential candidates, size of the result sheets and increased voter population.

This was as the commission said it has achieved a 100 percent reconfiguration of its 180, 000 smart card readers ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday. INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu disclosed this Wednesday in Abuja while briefing journalists on the state of preparedness of the commission for the polls.

Yakubu said the commission was working to ensure that it does not keep Nigerians waiting for days without declaring the results, saying the time limit would not exceed what obtained in 2015. In 2015, while the Presidential Election held on a Saturday, a winner was not declared until the following Wednesday. “Even though this time around we have more presidential candidates than in 2015, we have more registered voters than we had in 2015, the size of the result sheet is bigger than we had in 2015, but we are committed to concluding the process for the Presidential elections roughly about the same time that we concluded the 2015 general elections. We will do whatever we can to ensure that we speedily conclude the process but we won’t sacrifice accuracy for speed”, he declared.

I urge every Ijaw son to take advantage of this event, to purify, sanctify and consecrate themselves with the full armour of the divine presence, especially as elections will be held three days after.

This epoch making event is titled "Amada-suo" festival, for information, the "Amada-suo" is a very powerful goddess of fertility and divine protection, as an Oru(Divine being), it can be categorised under what we know as "SERAPHIMS" in Christiandom, as the name implies 'Amada-suo', interpreting in English as "that which protects and defends the town".

The "Amada-suo" was one of those deities used in the famous British-Akassa war,  several occasions it has proven it potency, in addition, we will be having the famous 'OSOWEI' festival, Osowei is a deity of the forest, the keeper, guardian and Kings of all forest (Bounanawei).

The event will be presided over by Priest Eneyi alias Akpakirikpon, a Prophet, seer and a former high priest of the then MEND days, precisely at Boyloaf Barrack, up to the disarmament stage.

Amada-suo is the Supreme deity of the Agadas known as Ekpetiama people, history speak of Agada as a fearless warrior, the Amada-suo, has been a major tool for fearlessly defending the lands, people and terrain of Ijaws.

This event will hold at AVEN community, in Patani LGA, Delta state, a migrant town of Bumoundi people in Ekpetiama kingdom in present day Bayelsa.

It is with great pleasure, we once again invite you all to be in attendance, some of the features of the event include,: warboat display, canoe race, Traditonal baptism and sanctification, wrestling, masquerade display, etc.

High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo denied Endorsement of President Buhari

High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, has denied the news story in an online platform, that he is among five ex-militant leaders who are set to endorse President Muhammadu Buhari as their preferred candidate for the February 16 Presidential election, in Port Harcourt.

Speaking through his media adviser and consultant, Comrade Paul Bebenimibo, he said:” We wish to notify the general public that Tompolo is not aware of this development. The endorsement is said to be coordinated by Boyloaf. It must be pointed out that Tompolo has not been in touch with Boyloaf since 2015. Tompolo is not in endorsement politics.

“Tompolo is presently troubled with the way and manner his kinsmen in Gbaramatu kingdom are been harassed and intimidated by President Muhammadu Buhari’s military on daily basis.” Speaking further, he explained that: “This same military harassed, brutalised and killed his father, Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo in 2015, and up till now, President Buhari has not made any statement by way of apology to him. And so, what will be the reason for Tompolo to endorse him – to further kill his kinsmen? “Tompolo has been in agony since 2015 as the present government is after him for unsubstantiated allegations of corruption. It is not true that Tompolo is part of those who are set to endorse President Buhari in Port Harcourt, therefore President Buhari and the general public should disregard the news as it is purely a fake news".

Deltans where unhappy as Governor Okowa and great Ogboru failed to appear in BBC Delta state gubernatorial debates.

Ahead of the March 2019 governorship polls date, three gubernatorial candidates in Delta state, on Thursday failed to attend the debate hosted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Africa.
Without reasonable excuses, the trio of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa (PDP), Great Ogboru (APC) and John Akwara (SDP) did not show up at the exciting debate which held at the Orchid Hotel in Asaba, Delta state capital.
Frank Esanubi (AAC), Brando Omu (AGAP) and Odiakpo Obire (PPA) were however on ground to whet the people’s appetite and anxiety during the debate.
Most Deltans, who attended the successful debate were unhappy that some governorship candidates failed to appear, saying that such disappointment clearly shows the poor attitude of the candidates in relating and interacting with people they intended to govern.
Meanwhile, a tip off from Government House, disclosed to Creek News that Governor Okowa held his Security Council meeting at same time of the debate.
The BBC Governorship Debate was to enable the governorship candidates sell their manifestoes to the people in Pidgin English. The debate stretch was to see political candidates questioned on issues around economy, education, health, Infrastructure and creation of jobs in the state.
Recall that the Head of BBC West Africa, Oluwatoyosi Ogunseye, had disclosed that the debate aims to bring governance closer to the people by engaging audiences, clarifying the issues as well as bridge the gap between candidates and the electorate.
