N-power Recruitment: Sadia Umar Farouq Gives 50,000 Slots To Senate

By CKN

June 26, 2020

Reports reaching the news desk of Creeks News Media has it that slots of the current recruitment of N-power has being allotted to the Senate and others.

SaharaReporters gathered that the ministry has allocated about 50,000 slots to federal lawmakers and other politicians across the country.

Disaster Management has given slots to Nigerian lawmakers in the ongoing recruitment for N-Power.
N-Power is one of the schemes in the National Social Investments Programme introduced by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to address the challenges of youth unemployment by providing a structure for large-scale and relevant skills acquisition and development while linking its core and outcomes to fixing inadequate public services and stimulating the larger economy.

The scheme has however, been embroiled in irregularities following the commencement of the second tenure of the President when the ministry was created to handle the programme.
The ministry had announced that its registration portal will reopen for registration out of which 400,000 beneficiaries will be taken from the application pool.

However, SaharaReporters gathered that the ministry has allocated about 50,000 slots to federal lawmakers and other politicians across the country.

As the portal for the registration opened today, SaharaReporters gathered that the lawmakers printed registration forms of N-Power, which they shared among their cronies.

This would not only thwart the vision for the creation of the scheme but also deny ordinary Nigerians the opportunity to partake in the scheme.

Some of the lawmakers, who received slots under the corrupt scheme include President of the National Assembly, Ahmad Lawan; Senator Abdul Ningi; and Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y Sule and others.

Tinubu, Oshiomhole, Others To Revive Alliance For Democracy AD In Preparation For 2023

By CKN

                     Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Tinubu and Oshiomhole faction of APC National Working Committee, NWC, are considering two options in wrestling power from the grips of their traducers.

As primary resolution reached out by the faction, President Muhammadu Buhari is said to have acted in error considering that the constitution of the All Progressive Congress does not make provision for any Care Taker Committee such as the one he just instituted, hence Tinubu and others are heading to court to seek redress.

As plan “B” in Tinubu front, the option to dialogue with the long existing Alliance for Democracy – AD is a fall back position they can’t shy away from, if other plans fail.

Alliance for Democracy AD is long existing party founded since 1999 with structure not standing anymore in other regions of the country except in the Southwest

Source close to Oshiomhole revealed to 9News Nigeria under cover that negotiations with AD stakeholders has been ignited few days ago when they started seen signs of their defeat.

Why AD and why can’t the faction create a fresh party, 9News Nigeria asked. The loosing APC member said it’s easy to revive and strengthen AD in the Southwest alone and get it go like wildfire all over the country in no time. We can’t create a new party at this time and get people acquainted to it before 2023. It can be done, but reviving an existing one will be cheaper and better, he said.

You're Not Going Back To The Streets.... - FG Tell N-power Batch A & B

By CKN

The current beneficiaries of the N-Power programme were grilled by fear since the outbreak of the news that, the current enrollees of the N-Power programme, will exit the scheme on June 30 and July 31, 2020, for Batch A and B respectively.

Their fear is however understandable, as the programme remain only source of income to majority of beneficiaries, and most of them are even married with kids hoping for the continuity of the scheme. This literary means that the end of the programme will spell doom to many households.

But wait a minute, the minister did not say that you're going to be exited from the scheme without anything to hold unto. She stated categorically that the beneficiaries will be transitioned into government entrepreneurship schemes, and some bodies of private sectors are also engaged to absorb some of the beneficiaries.

The Minister Said in their official Twitter handle; 'We have commenced the transitioning of beneficiaries from Batches A and B into government entrepreneurship schemes, and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries, after the completion of psychometric assessment to determine competency and placement into various opportunities'.

She equally reiterated the commitment of the Federal government to continuation and expansion of the programme, as such will enable new Batch to be onboard, and acquire Skills for entrepreneurship and job creation.

First of all, let me clarify beneficiaries about government entrepreneurship schemes; Entrepreneurship is the process of creating value, by bringing together a unique package of resources to exploit an opportunity. An entrepreneur is ordinarily called a businessman, who combines capital and labour for the purpose of production, organizes and manages a business unit and assumes risk meant for profit.

Government Development Entrepreneurship programme in Nigerian include; National Directorate of Employment (NDE), National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (NOAS) and, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Association of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

The Nigerian Government promotes entrepreneurial culture through initiatives that build business confidence, positive attitude, pride in success, support and encouragement of new ideas, social responsibility, providing technological supports, encouraging inter-firm linkages and promotion of research and development.

Four major areas these entrepreneurship programme addresses are; a) Small Scale Enterprises programme, b) Vocational skill development programme, c) Rural employment promotion programme, and d) Special public work programme.

Therefore, psychometric test will determine which area someone should be placed, that is from ones intellectual ability, to make sure that you will be placed in area that suits your ability.

The N-Power Programme was inaugurated in 2016 under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), with the mandate of lifting citizens out of poverty through capacity building, investment, and direct support. The programme has enrolled 500,000 beneficiaries so far, with 200,000 from Batch A which started in September 2016, and 300,000 from Batch B which kicked off in August 2018.

The beneficiaries were supposed to spend not less than 24 months on the programme, and were spread across the key industries targeted by the programme; agriculture, health, education, and tax.

I hope this article will address most of the challenges beneficiaries are facing right now, like there next move after the programme.

Serious Celebration In Yokiri As Fisherman Who Got Missing In The Sea For 2 Days Found Alive

By Keneware Emmanuel

A great celebration rock Yokiri community, Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state today as a well known fisherman named  'Ogbo owei' who went to fishing at the early hours of yesterday in Ogulagha sea and didn't return as at when due.

It became worrisome as the tide were high (Rough sea) and he was told not to go on that fate day.

However, as a result  of love for human live, the good people of Sokebolou and Yokiri mobilised themselves and went in search for him early this morning.

Their search was frustrated due to the wideness and roughness of the sea. They almost gave up but God heard the cries of the people especially the woman who owns the boat he went to fishing with.

After a long fruitless search, he was found alive in Ondo state with the fishing boats, nets and engine still intact.

It was learnt that Mr Ogbe- wei got missing as a result of faulty engine which drifted him to Ondo state all the way from Delta State but no live was lost.

At the time of filing this report, celebration is still going on in Yokiri Community.

Profiling Tompolo: The Man, The Hero, The Deity.

~~The Billionaire Militant, His Biography, Net Worth And Private Jet

CreeksNews Editorial

Tompolo is a freedom fighter who fought against oppression and exploitation in Nigeria who turned a billionaire businessman . He was the leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND). The previous guerrilla warrior drove the agitation against the Nigerian government and international oil organizations over the oppression and exploitation of his people just as the annihilation and degradation of their environment brought about unchecked pollution through inappropriate methods in the oil production.

Tompolo, with full name, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo was born on the 12 of April 1971 to the Okerenoko royal family, in the traditional Gbaramatu Kingdom of Delta State, Nigeria. He was raised by his biological guardians and got his basic education at Okepopo Primary School in Warri. He finished his secondary school education in 1993.

During that time, Tompolo had started to see the dishonest sidelining of his people from the gains gathered from the production of oil which was drilled from his own community. This incited him to join a Niger Delta resistance group. In 1998, he joined the recently formed Ijaw Youth Council, where he turned into a respected and regarded member. Be that as it may, because of expanded inward politics inside the group that prompted little advancement, Tompolo joined the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta where he immediately rose to the role of high commander.

Tompolo had then amassed a great deal of riches said to be generally from oil bunkering. His wealth put him at the cutting edge of tasks as he had the option to support the group with the assets they expected to accomplish their objectives which included overwhelming artillery weapons and boats. He additionally stretched out a invitation to Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, pioneer of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force (NDPVF) to take refuge in Delta state in 2005. This encouraged MEND to be perceived as the main militant group in the community as it allegedly tried to shape an association of all the applicable militant group in the Niger Delta. This put Tompolo in the command of thousands of militant and he was extremely effective in his tasks, assaulting oil installations in the territory and abducting a few oil company personnel. Mend is said to have authoritatively started its tasks by kidnapping nine foreign staff of Wilbros, an American oilfield service company situated in Panama, yet with significant workplaces and administrators in Houston, USA. Tompolo had the option to boast that beside Mr. Dokubo-Asari and Ateke Tom, each other millitant in the area was under his tutelage.

His exercises started to instil fear in the Nigerian government just as other international bodies who had operations and investment in the area. This gave him a seat at the table to negotiate terms wherein the militants would set out their weapons in return for amnesty and developments project to be carried out in the Niger Delta. He was granted full amnesty and all of his men, said to be more than 2000 when they grasped the amnesty offer from the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua on June 27, 2009. This followed with the handing over of weapons by militant commandants in the Niger Delta district in return for the promised amnesty and assurance of employments and training by the government.

The militants were welcomed with incredible cheers by many Niger Delta individuals who wore shirts with the engraving; Tompolo Is Our Hero. He not long after started working with government forces to catch militants carrying out atrocities in the community in his group's name.

Tompolo Net Worth (Private Jet)

It is not clear what Tompolo's total assets is, notwithstanding, it is said to be in billions of naira. This can be determined from the millions he got from the government through the amnesty program just as his other business ventures which included unlawful oil bunkering and most as of late, arms trading. Having been a dear friend of President Goodluck Jonathan, Tompolo was awarded a contract through his company, the Global West Vessel Specialist Limited (GWVSL), of over N15 billion naira to supply 20 vessels for the utilization of the Nigerian military authorities to secure its waterways.

Tompolo's riches can likewise be seen by his ownership for private jet. As indicated by reports by different sources, the ex-militant possesses a Learjet 60SE, which costs an astounding N2.12 billion, made by Canadian aerospace company Bombardier.

Tompolo was needed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for a case of conspiracy and the illicit diversion of the sum of N34,000,000,000 (Thirty-Four Billion Naira) and N11,900,000,000 (Eleven Billion, Nine Hundred Million Naira) which allegedly belonged to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

On a few events, Tompolo has avoided the request for a Federal High Court in Lagos to show up before it and answer to a 40-check charge of supposed extortion leveled against him by the EFCC. All endeavors made by both the police and military powers to secure him have demonstrated fruitless. In the end, it boiled down to Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Lagos Federal High court to arrange for the seizure of certain properties belonging to the previous Niger Delta warlord.

Tompolo sold his own property. Yet he's being witch hunt. He's being worshipped by many who believe in his dream for a better Niger Delta.

He is Indeed A Hero!

El-Rufai Backs Return Of Presidency To The South In 2023.

By CKN

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, said the 2023 presidency should go to Nigeria’s southern region.
He said this will promote the democratic tenets and balance of power among the regions in the country.

Mr El-Rufai did not specify which of the southern geopolitical zones should take the presidency in 2023.
For many years, Nigeria’s political class have observed an unwritten rule that has seen the presidential slot rotated between its majorly Christian-dominated south and the Muslim-dominated north.

The current president, Muhammadu Buhari, is from Katsina, in the North-west. He defeated the then incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, in 2015. Mr Jonathan, who is from Bayelsa, South-south, region took over from late President Umaru Yar’Adua, a northerner.

“The general political consensus in Nigeria is that the pesidency should rotate between the North and the South. It is not written but everyone understands it,” the Kaduna governor said.
“In some of the parties, like the PDP, it is even written down in their constitution but it was breached in 2015. I think that every politician of honour should understand and abide by that consensus except there is an extenuating circumstance compelling it to be set aside. What could this be?

“President Yar’Adua died in office and it was compulsory for Jonathan to continue but when 2011 election came, there were many people who insisted that Jonathan should step aside for a northerner to complete the tenure of Yar’Adua but I opposed it because I didn’t think it was proper for an incumbent that got there not by his own design should be stopped from contesting when the constitution has not barred him from running,” the Vanguard newspaper reported the governor as saying on Monday.

Mr El-Rufai acknowledged the ‘deliberate’ omission of zoning in the ruling APC’s constitution but opined that it is ideal that “the Northern APC will have to sit down and endorse someone, most likely someone from the south, because after eight years of Buhari, I don’t think the presidency should remain in the north unless there is some extenuating circumstances. But all things being equal, we will honour our agreement and we keep our words.”

Fayose Blast Buhari, Says President Cant Manage His Family, Let Alone His Party And Nigeria

By CKN
June 21, 2020

Former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has lashed out at President Buhari over the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress.

Fayose in his tweets shared on Saturday night, said Nigeria is currently being managed by "strange bedfellows" who took it by conspiracy and deception. He stated that what is happening to the APC in Edo State is a pointer to the "helpless situation the country is currently in."

The former Governor added that President Buhari who should be the leader of APC "cannot even run the affairs of his immediate family, let alone managing his party and the nation."

He tweeted;

Gold is only sold to those who know the worth. Sadly, Nigeria is currently being managed by strange bird fellows, who took it by conspiracy and deception. People who can't even manage their party. Now, our country is bleeding seriously and we must salvage it together.

What is happening to the APC in Edo State is a pointer to the helpless situation that our country is now. The President who should be the leader of APC cannot even run the affairs of his immediate family not to talk of managing his party and the nation.

FG Has Shortchanged Us -- Npower Beneficiaries Cry Out

 June 21, 2020
By CKN

Beneficiaries of the Federal government’s social investment scheme under the umbrella of the 36 States and FCT N-Power Representatives Forum, has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari government to spell out the transition package for batches A and B who will be exiting the programme by June and July respectively.

The beneficiaries, in a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday, said the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster management, Sadiya Farouq, must not deceive over 500,000 Nigerian youths who fought hard to ensure the current administration returned to power in 2019 by putting out a mere promise of Entrepreneurial schemes to them.

They further threatened to embark on a nationwide protest if by the end of seven days the Minister fails to provide them with answers to their demands which include:

“Explain in clear terms the transitioning of beneficiaries into government’s entrepreneurship schemes.

“Assure the 500,000 beneficiaries mode of payment in this newly introduced transition schemes.

“When exactly are you going to pay over 80,000 volunteers that are owed March, April and May stipends.

“The entire 300,000 volunteers of Batch B and some in Batch A have not been given the promised device, when are they going to get it?

“When are you going to pay backlogs of Batch A and Batch stipends.

“Nothing short of the above will settle the beneficiaries at the moment and will not hesitate to notify our benefactor, President Muhammadu Buhari’s who is the initiator of this Programme,” the volunteers warned.

In the same vein, another volunteer of the N-power scheme, Babatunde (surname withheld) lamented the plight of beneficiaries across the country.

He said that the batch B volunteers, who are supposed be given some gadgets to enhance their program like the first batch (Batch A) until now, have not received the promised working tool.

Babatunde told DAILY POST that the programme was running smoothly while it was under the office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo through his special adviser on job creation(Afolabi Imhuokude) until the President announced in his October 1st Independence Day address to the nation that the social investment programme which N-power was under, will be transferred to the newly created Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster management.

“Since the programme was transferred to the new ministry under the incompetent and ineptitude stewardship of Sadiya Farooq, it has been struggling to live up to its expectations and its purpose; payment of stipends becomes a struggle and problem, beneficiaries were been owed up to 3 months stipends and all what Sadiya could say then was that the delay in payment of stipends was as a result of the transferring of the program to her ministry that they were taking time to sort the information and details of the Beneficiaries.

“Finally, the batch A and batch B N-power beneficiaries are to be exited from the programme in June ending and July ending respectively and the portal will be opened for new applicants into the program (Batch C) on the 26th June 2020.

It is appalling that the military who ought to have protect lives and property are now turning lawless, posing a great threat to the peaceful co-existence of Ijaw nation.

It is our demand that the military who shot the 3 Ijaw law-abiding youths in Okomu be investigated, arrested and prosecuted in immediate effect.

The Ijaw race in Edo state is now vulnerable. They live at the mercy of God. No life is safe, Military brutality is now the order of the day. Military lawlessness is now legalized. Life of the Ijaws in Edo state is cheap and brute. The military kills at every slightest provocation.

It was recent that some Ijaw Okomu villages were burnt down by the same lawless Nigerian military, as if that was not enough, they went and shot three Ijaw youths from the same community.

It is disgusting and sad. We have suffered too long for this continues military intimidations, killings and burning of Ijaw communities.

It is our demand that the chief of army staff should launch an all-round investigation into the shooting of 3 Ijaw law-abiding citizens in Okomu communities with a view of arresting and prosecuting the erring military officers without a further delay.

He among others were the progenitors of Niger Delta struggle. Niger Delta struggle wouldn't have been in view if not men like Owonaru, Adaka Boro etc. We have loss a rare germ. His demise is a monumental lost. It is sad and painful. Most painful is that he died especially at a time where his wealth of experience is needed most.

Owonaru good deeds and immense contributions in the Niger Delta struggle will be forever remembered. He was a proud son of Ijaw nation and Niger Delta at larger. Indeed his death has thrown the Ijaw nation into mourning. He was the only remaining soldier who fought for Niger Delta republic. In his Democracy Day broadcast on June 12, 2020 the President commended the programme, noting that “our Social Investment Programme has continued to be a model to other nations.”

The commencement of the Batch C enrolment is sequel to far reaching consultations and a review of the submissions on the reform and realignment of the programme for greater efficiency.

Batch C is also being enrolled to provide opportunities for more Nigerian youths to access the programme, in furtherance of the President’s vision of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty by creating opportunities that will enhance the productivity of the Nigerian youths for entrepreneurship.

In view of these, the Ministry has announced that Batch A will exit June 30, 2020 and Batch B will exit the programme on July 31, 2020.

Victor Isereke: The Unsung Political Strategist In The Emerging Political Space ~ Creeks News

June 19, 2020.

              Comr. Victor Oyinke Isereke

Politics is the authoritative allocation of scarce resources in the society. It is the determination of who gets what, when and how. Politics is a game for all, the educated and the illiterate. It is a game which requires leadership and followership. It is a game of conflict and competition in which the stronger voice and negotiators takes it. And it is one of the largest industries in the universe which provides development to the society with employment opportunities given to numerous participants and in most cases those employed to occupy juicy positions are educated people.

Comr. Victor Oyinke Isereke graduated with Second Class upper honours in Zoology from the prestigious Delta State University, Abraka; he is currently studying to earn his Masters degree in Parliamentary Administration  from the  Nigerian National Assembly owned National Institute for Legistaltive and Democratic Studies, Abuja.

He is said to have made way to the political speaking space consciously and has made conscious efforts to remain relevant in that space for as long as he want.

The grassroot is said to be the bedrock of political inclination and advancement. Hence, Comr. Victor Isereke has endeared himself to the grassroot through service in several capacities; he started off as the President of the National Association of Ogulagha Clan Students, NAOCS; Assistant Secretary and Secretary General of Ogulagha community; and served in several delegated capacities in the interest of his people.

Inspired by his flair and zeal for politics, he was appointed the Youth Leader in the peoples Democratic Party PDP; became campaign office Administrator to the Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi Campaign Organisation in 2014 and subsequently appointed Personal Assistant, P.A, to the Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, when the former leader of Burutu Legislative Arm, against all odds, was fortunately favoured by the God of politics to clinch the seat as member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Burutu Federal Constituency. A position Comr. serves till date.

In the political scene, people are applauded by their intellectualism, tact and strategies deployed to win political opponents, as well as to keep the populace endeared to their preferred political actors.

These qualities, mostly has being attributed to older politicians who sometimes, as a result of their wealth of experience, affluence, assets or financial muscles enjoys continual political patronage from the people.

Ironically, hitherto, Comr. Victor Oyinke Isereke, has assiduously proven beyond doubt to be a young political strategist as he keeps pace with the comrade community, well-meaning youths and influential political dramatist persona to give his boss soft landing with all classes of persons in society as he is always in touch and tactfully influences anyone to his side with the ease.

His tact and strategy has wield him much influence so as to quell and calm aggrieved parties in the political space without much intervention; with his charisma embodied on humility, technicalities, political wisdom and idealism, influence, philanthropism and humanitarianism.

Such individuals, no doubt are painstakingly reward by nature and the society. They are always favoured and catapulted to be decision makers at the highest echelon of political power and leadership prowess.

Honestly, he deserves be lauded; though his unassuming disposition, simplicity and humility has made not many to celebrate his contributions to peace and societal growth; I take this moment to appreciate this young enigma who’s quiet role is the much needed factor that has endeared the so many Burutu Federal Constituents to the activities of the performing representative of the Burutu people in the green Chambers of the National Assembly.

Webometrics Ranking: Civil Society Group Berates Delta VC For Twisting Facts, Says Delsu New Feats Are Achievements Of Previous Administration

By Keneware Emmanuel

19 June, 2020

WARRI- More reactions have trailed the recent Webometrics ranking of Delta State University as the 11th best State Universities in the country against the claims of the 7th position by Prof. Andy O. Egwunyenga, the current vice-chancellor of the University.

The Ijaw People's Development Initiative, IPDI, through its national president comrade Ozobo Austin said the new feats of Delta State University were achievements of the previous administration and that Prof. Andy O. Egwunyenga should avoid the temptation of stealing from his neighbour's pot.

The group urged him to desist from further attempts of twisting facts and figures about the current Webometrics rating in the school, a move the group described as self-destructive if not checked, insisted that Delsu was rank 11th best state Universities and 38th best Nigerian Universities, and that the public should disregard every twisted reports making the round.

They added that Webometrics assessments were usually done two times a year but reports normally released in the next academic year and not immediate.

They maintained that at the time the new VC was appointed in 2020, Webometrics had completed its 2019 two times assessments in the school, and that there was no way  such victory would be attributed to efforts of the new VC of the school.

The group further added "Our investigation shows that DELSU was placed at the 38th position among Nigerian Varsities in 2020 Webometrics rating. But it is not true that DELSU was placed at the 7th position among State Universities as claimed by the University spokesperson, but 11th position. For the benefit of doubt, the following are the ten state Universities  placed above DELSU going by the 2020 Web rankings (1) Ladoke Akintola University of Technology 2) Lagos State University (3) Ebonyi State University (4) Olabisi Onabanjo University (5) Niger Delta University (6) Adekunle Ajasin University (7) Rivers State University, Port Harcourt (8) Benue State University (9) Kebbi State University (10) Cross River State University of Science and Technology, Calabar (11) Delta State University, Abraka"
