The Niger Delta Student Union Government, NIDSUG, an umbrella body that covers all students unions activities in the Niger Delta today heartily and euphorically honours a dogged, vibrant, smart, intellectually sound, empirically minded and vigorously inclined political activist, youth leader cum philanthropist, Comr. Bright B. A Guwor. One of Ogulagha and Niger Delta finest for his superb leadership prowess, intrepid and philanthropic support for the Niger Delta Struggle.
The award which was presented by distinguish Sen. Markson Ode, the Senate President of NIDSUG said, Comr Bright Guwor deserves it because of his active and vitriolic role.
In his words;
Today the highly revered student union body of the Niger Delta, NIDSUG, deem it fit to come to Ogulagha Kingdom to honour one of its own. One who have shown worth and character. One who has always been there for NIDSUG. One who has done a lot too numerous to enumerate. Therefore, we deem it fit to appreciate and thank him with this award.
This award is meant to spur him to do more in his philanthropic act in the Niger Delta struggle. He said.
While reacting to the award with joy and felicitation, Comr Bright Guwor, dedicate the award to God Almighty. He said whatever he does is to glorify God Almighty and humanity which is his passion and drive and not to accumulate resources for himself. There's no way someone will be in need or tears without me giving out the little I have. That is what Christianity really means. And it is what you sow that you reap. This is a fruit of what has being sown and it is the Lords doing.
He wholeheartedly thank the Niger Delta Student Union Government NIDSUG, the Senate President, Distinguished Sen. Markson Ode and his entourage for finding him worth among many others.
He concluded by promising to do more to the glory of God and to liberate humanity.
Also speaking at the event, was Engr. Timi Temewei, spokesman for the Ogulagha Youth Initiative Forum, OYIF, who spoke on behalf of the group. He described the award as the 'Finger of God'. And that Comr. Bright Guwor has really affected many lives particularly students and the aged not only in Ogulagha kingdom but the Niger Delta at large. He thank the Niger Delta Student Union Government for painstakingly coming to Ogulagha Kingdom to honour their own and a vibrant son of the soul.
For an Ogulagha son to be honour like this signifies that Ogulagha Kingdom means alot in the Niger Delta region and it is a kingdom of high repute to reckon with. He added.
High point of the event was the presentation of the award.
Present in the event was members of the Niger Delta Student Union Government, members of Ogulagha Youth Initiative Forum, friends, fans and well-wishers.
The event took place at Sweet Apple hotel Ogulagha.
